Why source timber responsibly?

81% of people in the UK think builders and construction companies should use more sustainable materials and methods.*

Forests play a vital role in sustaining life on Earth: they help to clean our air, purify our water, and provide renewable materials to support a more sustainable future. They are home to 300 million people and two thirds of biodiversity on land and are a powerful defence against climate change - yet many are threatened by illegal logging and other harmful practices.

When forests are responsibly managed, biodiversity is maintained, the plants and trees within them can extract more carbon dioxide and they can continually capture carbon while providing the countless materials we use every day. Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certification is a simple way to show that wood and timber products come from sustainably managed forests, recycled sources and/or other controlled materials.

Choosing responsibly sourced timber is about more than materials. It is about delivering better outcomes for the environment, for society, and for business.
